The University of Baguio’s (UB) School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety (SCJSPS) recently conducted a successful tripartite meeting, underscoring the importance of collaboration and partnerships in achieving quality education and building stronger ties with industry partners.
The meeting, dubbed as Tripartite Meeting 5.0, was held last April 20, 2023, at the UB Centennial Hall. It was attended by the heads and representatives of various industry partners, SCJSPS faculty and staff, and the UB Administration. The main objective of the event was to enhance the programs offered by the school, specifically, the Bachelor of Science in Criminology (BSCRIM), Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science (BFSCI), Master of Science in Criminal Justice (MSCJ), Doctor of Philosophy in Criminal Justice (PHDCJ), and Master of Crisis and Disaster Risk Management (MCDRRM) programs.
Collaboration with industry partners is crucial in gaining insights from experts in the field and identifying the skills and knowledge that students need to succeed in their future careers. The evaluation of the Program Educational Objectives (PEO) and Program Outcomes (PO) of the Criminology and Forensic Science Program, as well as their Internship Program, is essential to ensure that graduates meet the demands of the industry.
During the tripartite meeting, the industry partners provided feedback on the performance of the Criminology and Forensic Science interns, followed by a critique of the PO and PEO. Additionally, a survey on the attainment of UB Graduate Attributes among UB alumni was facilitated.
The successful conduct of the tripartite meeting highlights the commitment of UB SCJSPS to deliver quality education and build strong partnerships with industry partners. It serves as a platform for the exchange of ideas and collaboration among stakeholders, promoting innovative ideas and ensuring the relevance of the programs offered by the school.
The UB SCJSPS’s Tripartite Meeting 5.0 is a testament to the power of collaboration and partnerships in achieving quality education and building stronger ties with industry partners. The meeting was a success and demonstrated the school’s commitment to continuously improve its programs to meet the needs of its learners and the industry.
