UB Gives Inspiration, Fellowship, and True Service 2024

On November 22, 2024, the University of Baguio (UB) hosted its annual UB G.I.F.T.S. (Gives Inspiration, Fellowship, and True Service) program, a significant initiative to support disadvantaged students from adopted schools.

The School of Criminal Justice and Public Safety, headed by Dr. Charesma Grace K. Lud-ayen, adopted Pinget Elementary School, Barangay Pinget, Baguio City. This event highlights UB’s dedication to community service and student involvement, providing students with an opportunity to contribute to those in need.

The event featured active participation from various university community members, including faculty, staff, and students. The main focus was on organizing games and activities for elementary school beneficiaries, which brought joy to the children and fostered a sense of unity among participants. This year’s UB G.I.F.T.S. program was particularly impactful as it allowed students to engage with their local community while promoting values of empathy and service.

In preparation for the event, UB worked closely with local adopted schools to identify specific needs and ensure that the activities were effectively tailored to benefit the students. The program included various entertaining and educational games designed to engage the children and encourage teamwork. Participants also had the opportunity to interact with the beneficiaries, building connections that extend beyond the event itself.

The UB G.I.F.T.S. program is part of UB’s broader outreach efforts to instill a culture of giving and volunteerism among its students. By participating in such initiatives, students not only make a positive impact on their community but also develop leadership skills and a sense of responsibility toward social issues.

Overall, the UB G.I.F.T.S. program held on November 22, 2024, was a great success. It demonstrated UB’s commitment to uplifting indigent students and emphasizing the importance of community involvement. Through events like this, UB continues to inspire its students to make a difference in the lives of others while fostering a spirit of fellowship and service within the university community.
