Life-Saving Skills Unlocked: Team Alpha Trains with POH TECK TUNG Foundation

On February 10-11, 2025, Team Alpha of forensic science interns finished a comprehensive training program with the POH TECK TUNG Foundation at Huachiew Chalermprakiet University. The training consisted of life-saving and emergency response protocols. On the first day, the team underwent a morning session that consisted of a lecture on Basic First Aid during emergencies. The lecture covered key topics such as assessment of the injured patients, calling emergency services, and performing initial patient evaluations. 

Afterward, the participants took a step-by-step walk through a return demonstration by applying what they learned. In the afternoon session, Basic CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) skills were introduced that deals and implements for adult patients and infant patients. Students were also trained in Hands-Only CPR in the hallway as well as emergency delivery techniques, ensuring they were equipped to handle a wide range of critical scenarios.

On the second day of the training session, February 11, Major Incident Medical Management & Support training was conducted with Team Alpha under the guidance of Mr. Ajarn Thaworn Pachua of POH TECK TUNG Foundation. After making a recap, the participants conducted a simulation exercise at Khao Tom Road. The simulation of a mass fatality incident divided the team into various roles: Rescue, Emergency Response, and Disaster Victim Identification (DVI). 

The two-day session ended with the issuance of certificates to all participants, acknowledging their commitment and learning in handling emergency cases. Team Alpha learned practical skills from the training session on first aid and emergency response, which they felt empowered to deal with real scenarios.
